Amazon Prime Day falls on July 15th of every year, which is the date in which it was launched online in 1995. Amazon celebrates this special day by offering special deals, and more deals than Black Friday, to it's PRIME members. In order to achieve PRIME status, a custome must pay the annual fee and in turn receives free 2-day shipping on PRIME items as well as access to free streaming movies, shows, and music in addition to the annual Amazon Prime Day.
As part of this special day, Amazon will release new deals every ten minutes on top of free-shipping for all new and existing PRIME members. They hope that Amazon Prime Day will increase the overall number of PRIME users will also improving customer loyalty in hopes of preventing online shoppers from going elsewhere to fulfill their shopping needs and wants.
In 2015, Amazon Prime Day will mark the company's 20th anniversary.
