|When is Children’s Day in 2017?|
The date of Children's Day in 2017 is on Monday, November 20th.
|What is Children’s Day?|
Universal Children’s Day is an international day designated by the United Nations General Assembly in 1954 and observed annually on November 20th. The occasion is dedicated to encouraging kids around the world to embrace their similarities and differences. On the level of international policy, the day is devoted to recognizing the rights of children and promoting their welfare. The Declaration of the Rights of Children was adopted by the United Nations in 1958 as part of this initiative. It states, in part, that children have the right to be clothed, fed, housed, nurtured, educated, and protected. Issues of child abuse, slavery, exploitation, and lack of education and medical care are all pressing matters that receive extra attention on Children’s Day.
