|When is Running Day in 2016?|
The 2016 Running Day is on Wednesday, June 1st.
|What is Running Day?|
The first Wednesday of June is designated as National Running Day. This informal holiday was founded in 2009 and celebrates the health benefits, comradery, sportsmanship, and simple enjoyment of running for fun and wellbeing. Other than the cost of buying some good running shoes, this athletic activity costs very little to participate in. National Running Day highlights the fact that this activity isn't just for racers or marathoners. People with a wide variety of fitness levels can ease into this activity with short runs or a mix of jogging and walking. More than 130 cities around the United States organize running events. Many of these events are set up as fundraisers for worthy causes.
