The French Tennis Open Championship, commonly referred to as the French Open or Roland Garros, is second of the four major "Grand Slam" tennis tournaments held every year in France. It occurs over a two-week period covering the end of May and the beginning of June at Stade Roland Garros, named after the famous French Aviator, in Paris, France. This annual tennis tourney is the most prestigious clay court event in the world and ends the clay court tennis season.
The four Grand Slam tennis tournaments are the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon (London, England), and the U.S. Open.
