When is Monaco Grand Prix in 2015?

The date of the Monaco Grand Prix 2016 is scheduled for Saturday, May 28th. The date has yet to be confirmed. There is a chance the event could be moved up to Saturday, May 21st. 

What is Monaco Grand Prix?

The Monaco Grand Prix, in French is called Grand Prix de Monaco, is a major Formula One race that is hosted every year on the Circuit de Monaco. Founded in 1929, this race has become one of the most popular and prestigious races in the entire world - competing with the Indy 500 NASCAR race and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Antony Moghes organised the first race on April 14th, 1929 under the name of Automobile Club De Monaco. William Grover-Williams won the first race while competing in a Bugatti. 

The Monaco Grand Prix race is held in the narrow streets of the city of Monaco. The challenging courses is composed of 78-laps and features many elevation changes and tight corners, not to mention a very dangerous tunnel section. As a result, drivers take the course with very low average speeds throughout the entire track. 

Ayrton Senna from Brazil is the most successful driver to compete in the Monaco Grand Prix. He won the prestigious race six times while winning the race five times in a row from 1989 through 1993. 

Other major grand prix races include Long Beach and Baltimore.
