|What is Chick-fil-A Bowl?|
The Chick-fil-A Bowl, officially known as the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, is a major annual college football bowl game played in Atlanta, Georgia, United States at the Georgia Dome. Founded in 1968, it is currently part of the College Football Playoff (CFP) system. The game was created as a fundraising opportunity for the local Lions Club but the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce took over the bowl after the first couple of years were anticlimatical.
In 1998, Chick-fil-A began sponsoring the bowl game and took the naming rights over, renaming it from the Peach Bowl to the Chick-fil-A Bowl and then the Chick-filA Peach Bowl before finally returning back to the original name in 2014. The game has sold out for eighteen straight years, which is second behind only the Rose Bowl, and was named the most attended non-BCS bowl game.
Beginning with the 2014 college football season, the Chick-fil-A Bowl game will be part of the College Football Playoff (CFP) system. It will have the opportunity of hosting a CFP semifinal game every three-years, beginning in 2016. The teams competing in the game are chosen by the CFP Selection Committee, a group of 13 experts.
