What is Epiphany ?

Epiphany is a Christiany holiday that is traditionally celebrated on the 6th of January. This day of feast commemorates the revelation of the Son of God in human form, Jesus Christ. For the Western Church, Epiphany is a celebration that focuses on Jesus' physical manfiestation to the Gentiles as a result of the Magi visiting Baby Jesus. The eastern Church celebrates what they believe is Jesus' true manifestation to humanity as the Son of God, which is when Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River. 

The word Epiphany means "manifestation" or "striking appearance." Some refer to Epiphany as Theophany, meaning "vision of God."
