|What is Taste of Chicago?|
Taste of Chicago is one of the largest outdoor food festivals in the United States. The Grant Park lakefront venue in Chicago, Illinois, offers a scenic backdrop for this five day event. The festival began in 1980 and now hosts more than three million visitors per year. Because Chicago is a metropolitan area that is home to people of many nationalities, the cuisine at the festival is quite varied. American, Italian, French, Chinese, African, and Italian cooking are all featured, and visitors can sample more than 200 menu items.
In addition to enjoying food, festival attendees can appreciate live music at the Bud Light Stage. Local artists are often featured, but larger acts such as Emmylou Harris, Lucinda Williams, and Aloe Blacc are invited as well. Children's activities are also available each day, making this event family friendly. Admission is free, and the food is sold with a ticket system.
