What is Opposite Day? |
 |
National Opposite Day is an informal celebration of doing things the wrong way 'round. It's a welcome way to shake up a tired daily routine during the bleakest time of year. Children and adults alike can join in with the lighthearted, backward fun. People can feel free to say the opposite of what they mean, wear their clothing in reverse, and eat meals at the wrong time of day. Role reversal is a popular way to recognize Opposite Day, with kids teaching classes and teachers being sent to the principal's office. There are also lots of amusing (and frustrating) games to enjoy throughout the day. For example, families might play "Simon Says" and have everyone do the opposite of Simon's instructions or try a guessing game where all the clues are the opposite of what they seem.
