When is VMA Awards in 2014?

The date of the VMA's in 2014 are scheduled for Sunday, August 24th. It is being hosted the The Forum in Inglewood, California and will air live on MTV at 9/8 PM central time. More information can be found on the official VMA website. 

What is VMA Awards?

The MTV Video Music Awards, typically referred to as the VMA's, is an annual trophy presented by the MTV cable channel to the best members of the music video industry. Since first launched in September of 1984, the VMA Awards have become one of the most popular awards show in terms of viewers. It traditionally draws a yuounger audience compared to other music awards so such as the Billboard Awards or American Music Awards. As a result, the Video Music Awards are jokingly referred to as the "Super Bowl for youth." 

Typically, the VMA's occur towards the end of summer and are presented in either late August or early September. The show is broadcasted live on MTV as they are typicallu hosted in NEw York City, Los Angeles, and occassionally either Miami or Las Vegas.
