What is Vesak?

Vasek Day is celebrated by millions of Buddhists and is officially recognized by the UN (United Nations). This special day celebrates the birth of Siddhartha Gautama Buddha, which is the founder of Buddhism. Typical celebrations include singing and dancing, performing plays about Buddha's life and his teachings, and religious leaders giving public messages. Temples are thoroughly decorated with decorations and flowers on the Day of Vasek. 

Buddha, who was often times called the enlightened one, frequently taught about compassion, peace, and goodwill. To this day, millions of people around the world follow Budda's teachings and messages. The Day of Vasek 2018 celebrates and commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and eath of Buddah.
