What is Parade of Homes? | ![]() |
The Parade of Homes is a 2-3 week event that is hosted in many regions in the United States throughout the year. Home Builders Associations and related trade associations typically organize these events to highlight half a dozen to several dozen of the best and most glamorous homes in a given community, city, or region. Custom-built new homes and remodeled homes are both included in the tours. Not all the homes that make the parade are mansions. Town homes and even duplexes can make the cut-but the properties are typically in affluent areas or exclusive neighborhoods. Homes on the tour schedule may be opened to the public for free tours, or participants may need to purchase an inexpensive ticket. Awards and recognition are often given to the best homes in a variety of categories.
Architects, builders, material suppliers, decorators, landscapers, and other home design professionals and vendors vie for the opportunity to have their work featured in a Parade of Homes event. It provides an opportunity to showcase their expertise and attract new customers. Properties included in a typical parade are outfitted to match the latest trends including high-end materials and plenty of home automation technology. Houses featured in a parade are often for sale, giving tourists a chance to make an offer if they find the home of their dreams.
The Parade of Homes is celebrated in many different cities throughout the United States at different times. We suggest you look up your city to see the specific dates.
