What is Holocaust Remembrance Day?

Holocaust Remembrance Day, in Hebrew this is called Yom Hashoah, is observed on the 27th day of the Jewish month of Nisan. This day marks the anniversary of Warsaw ghetto uprising.  It commemorates the millions of Jewish people that were killed during the Holocaust. If Yom Hashoah 2016 falls on a Saturday, it is observed on the Friday before. If the day falls on a Sunday then it is observed on that following Monday.
