|What is Gudi Padwa?|
Gudi Padwa is celebrated on the first day of the Chaitra month, which marks the beginning of the New Year based on the lunisolar Hindu calendar. It also marks the first day of Chaitra Navrati and Ghatasthapana. The word Padwa comes from Sanskrit word "Pratipada," which stands for the first day of a bright moon phase. Sometimes this day is referred to Samvatsar Padvo.
