What is Grammy Awards?

The Grammy Awards Show is an annual presention of Grammy Awards to members of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) of the United States. The Grammy Award, commonly known simply as a Grammy, was originally called a Gramophone Award and is handed out to members of the music industry as a way to recognize their outstanding achievements for the previous year. The Grammy Awards Show includes both award presentations as well as live musical performances. 

The original Grammys was hosted on May 4th, 1959.

The Grammy Awards Show is the equivalent to the Emmy Awards for TV and the Academy Awards for movies.
