Founded in 1930, the Florida Strawberry Festival is a major food festival that is held every year in Planty City, Florida, United States. The locals were trying their best to promote the local strawberry fields for many years before the local Lions Club was able to host the first festival in 1930. Over 500,000 people from around the world attend the 11-day festival every year. Included in the Strawberry Festival is a large flea market section, various entertainment acts and events, concerts, a parade, a local 4-H livestock area, and a beauty pageant with the winner being named the "Strawberry Queen."
