The Duck Commander 500 Is a stock car race held at Texas Motor Speedway (known as "The Great American Speedway") in Fort Worth, Texas. This event is included in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and there are a number of qualifying events that led up to the big race on the weekend, including the NASCAR O-Reilly Auto Parts 300 Series race. A dirt track championship race, IndyCar, and Camping World Truck Series are also held at the Speedway.
The stadium holds over 191,000 fans, and a direct view of the track is supplemented by the massive "Big Hoss TV". This HD LED video board claims the Guinness world record for size, at more than 20,633 square feet. Track promotor Eddie Gossage is known for instigating eye-catching publicity stunts. One year, he dubbed the event a "No-Limits Wild Asphalt Circus" and had monkeys selling tickets at the gate. At any race, viewers seated near the track are encouraged to wear protective glasses and earplugs for safety.
