The Daytona 500 is the first race as well as the most prestigious race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series that occurs on the final Sunday in the month of February. It is a 500 mile race that is annually held at the Daytona International Speedyway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Since 1995, the Daytona 500 has had the highest television of any race in the world, surpassing the Indy 500 IndyCar Race held in Speedway, Indiana. The Daytona 500 is commonly referred to as "The Great American Race" or the "Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing." The winning driver receives the Harley J. Earl Trophy in Victory Lane. In terms of popularity, the Daytona 500 race is almost even with the Indy 500.
