When is Coachella in 2013?

2013's Coachella Weekend #1 lasts from April 12th through the 14th. 

2013's Coachella Weekend #2 lasts from April 19th through the 21st. 

What is Coachella ?

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is a 3 day festival incorporating music and art that is organized by Goldenvoice and hosted at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California (near Palm Springs). The festival is referred to by several names, the most common being Coachella, Coachellafest, or Coachella Festival. The festival was founded in 1999 by Paul Tollett of Goldenvoice, which is a subsidiary of AEG Live (Anschutz Entertainment Group). AEG Live has quickly become the world's second largest promoter for live shows. 

The 2013 Coachella artist lineup includes Modest Mouse, Bassnectar, Band of Horses, The Postal Service, Franz Ferdinand, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Wu-Tang Clan, The Lumineers, The XX, and Vampire Weekend. Friday nights will be headlined by Blur and The Stone Roses with Phoenix tearing up Saturday night all before The Red Hot Chili Peppers close the weekend out on Sunday night. 

Coachella includes musical performances from artists in multiple different genres, including rock, hip-hop, indie, rap, and electronic as well as pieces of sculpture. The performances are hosted on stages throughout the venue but the main stages are the Coachella Stage, Outdoor Theater, Gobi Tent, Mojave Tent, and the Sahara Tent. 

Some of the most well-known artists to perform at Coachella include Kanye West, Dr. Dre, MGMT, The White Stripes, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Prince, Madonna, The Black Keys, the Beastie Boys, Muse, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
