What is National Beer Day? | ![]() |
National Beer Day is celebrated every year on April 7th in the United States. The special day celebrates the ability for US citizens to buy, sell, and drink beer that came with the Cullen-Harrison Act, which was signed by US President Franklin. D. Roosevelt on March 22nd in 1933. Even though it was signed on March 22nd, the new law did not go into effect until April 7th, which has come to be known as National Beer Day. April 6th is sometimes referred to as New Beer's Eve in a joking manner.
Recently, National Beer Day has become increasingly popular with the recent growth of craft beer and local breweries. It is common for bars and breweries to offer specials or host parties for this special day.
