What is International Bacon Day?

Created by the residents of Bedford, Massachusetts in 2000, International Bacon Day, commonly referred to as simply Bacon Day, is an unofficial annual "holiday" celebrated on the Saturday prior to Labor Day (typically the first Monday of September) in the United States of America. Bacon Day celebrations include social gatherings that eat food and drink beverages containing bacon. These meals include breakfasts, lunches, dinners, desserts, and lots of snacks. The biggest such gathering is at the San Diego Bacon Fest in San Diego, California.
